What is a Lithophane?
A Lithophane is a three-dimensional image that is created using varying thickness in a translucent material, such as porcelain, plastic, or wax. When back lit, the varying thickness allows different amounts of light to pass through, creating a grey scale image or a relief effect.
Lithophanes have been used historically in art and photography, and with modern 3D printing technology, they can be produced with intricate detail. They are often used for decorative purposes, such as window hangers or keychains, to display images or scenes when illuminated from behind.

You can now create a gift that can be used for years to come. You can add a new bauble each year to remember the moments that remind you of your loved ones at Christmas time.
These baubles use your regular Christmas tree lights for their illumination (they do not have their own light source). Just slide an LED light into the hole on the top and you are good to go!
Our standard diameter size is 50mm which suits most sized Christmas trees. If you have a specific size in mind, just let us know!
Note: Use only LED’s that are cool to the touch! Do not use incandescent bulbs as they will melt the bauble.

- Your desired Lithophane option (keychain, window hanger, standalone, Christmas bauble).
- Specify the number of copies you need.
- Share your shipping address.
- Include any additional information or questions you might have.
- Don’t forget to attach your chosen high-resolution photo.
- Reach out to us at info@imprint3D.nz and provide the following details:
- Review and Approval:
- We’ll create a mock-up of the design and email it to you, along with a quote and lead time for your approval.
- Confirm Your Order:
- Upon your confirmation of the order specifications, we’ll send you a payment request to proceed.
- Printing Process:
- Your Lithophane will start printing once we receive your payment, ensuring meticulous detail and quality.
- Quoted lead time starts once payment is received.
- Shipment Notification:
- After completion, we’ll notify you that your custom Lithophane has been shipped, so you can anticipate its arrival!
