Kahu Conservation
Kahu conservation is a native New Zealand Raptor rehabilitation centre based in Auckland, NZ. We have had the privilege to help them develop some designs to keep track of these amazing birds during their rehab.
A key part of getting these birds back into the wild is having them out in their natural environment but also being able to keep an eye on them from a safe distance. This is done via GPS tracking. Imprint3D NZ helped to design several different 3D printed “backpacks” for the birds that Kahu Conservation can attach tiny GPS units to and track their movements.

Dappled Rays
Dappled Rays is a bespoke hand made jewelry designer right here in Aotearoa specialising in resin jewelry made from natures creations such as sea shells from local beaches and flowers from the backyard and beyond.
Imprint3D NZ was approached to design and print a universal stand to be used for product photography in the light box. Earrings, necklaces and other items can be hung from it to make life easier when creating website content and social media post.

Auckland Whale & Dolphin Safari (AWADS)
AWADS is a sightseeing boat based right here in Auckland and run trips out to the Hauraki Gulf to see all sorts of amazing marine and bird wildlife. Their tour focuses on sustainability and education and supports projects to protect the Gulf.
Imprint3D NZ was asked to help with a unique health and safety issue that came up with the crew. While out on the water the skippers and first mates spend a lot of time looking for wildlife through binoculars. On the bright and sunny days there were reports of eye fatigue due to the reflection off the water. We helped design a snug fitting lens cap using a camera polarised lens. These were custom sized to fit perfectly onto their model of binoculars. Now the crew can dial up or down the amount of polarization needed depending on the conditions.

Fishing gear
A past time of mine and some buddies is fishing so I have designed and made items that we needed on the go. Be it from rod holder inserts for the boat to a 2 piece fishing line holder that attaches to a drill to speed up the unloading process. If you think it… it might just be possible to design and print!
